A new home but a similar result for the First Team

MCFA Junior Cup – Kensington Dragons 2 v 1 Hounslow Wanderers Reserves

This first round match was Dragons first game at Birkbeck, their new home ground. The team was unchanged from last weeks win against Chiswick and the start was lively from the home side who were respectful of the Premier Division Reserve side. The early pressure from the attacks created some good chances though none were taken, it seemed only a matter of time. Another attack down the left resulted in a free kick in a good attacking area and the delivery was kept alive and Jon Dixon was on hand to place his finish beyond the keeper. The half continued on in the same vain with only a cutting edge missing from the Dragons play. With another free kick awarded in a favourable area Dragons extended their lead with Geoff Nalu Moso able to apply the the finish to a ball into the box. Not long after though Wanderers found a way back in the game with another free kick not dealt with and this time Wanderers took advantage of the tap in. This set-up a possible epic second half but such was Dragons dominance, it never materialised and the score line should have been doubled if not tripled but the win saw the Dragons enter the second round knowing they can still improve.
