Disappointment was etched on the Dragons faces at full-time as the draw confirmed that the slightest hope of winning the title was gone. The game started brightly with the Dragons in good spirits after last week’s thumping win and the ball was moved with purpose to set up at least four openings within ten minutes. The Dragons Achilles heel is not being ruthless in front of goal and Pitshanger, who had only mustered one shot all half, were glad to go in at the break not four nil down. The Dragons knew a draw would not be good enough and went about creating chances again only again to miss them. Disaster then struck with a scramble from a corner not cleared and the Dragons went behind to Pitshanger’s top marksman. The Dragons dominated and finally the equaliser came from some good link play. The Dragons pressed for the winner and it seemed to be there when they were awarded a penalty. Alas it was missed and the match was over to leave the Dragons watching the table until their last game against Brentham in two weeks.
