The Firsts win to stay top of the table

Brentham 0 v 1 Kensington Dragons

After a big win last week this game was even bigger as it would consolidate the result. Brentham were much changed from the cup game and started with a real intent to get the result. As the game settled and the storm weathered by the Dragons the contest started to become more one sided in Dragons favour.  Madden, Soussi and Malone all had great chances and at least one should have been taken to show for the dominance at the interval but the sides would go in level.
After the break neither side was really threatening to score though Dragons remained in control of possession and solid at the back. It was this foundation that meant a slip in concentration could get the result. With a corner on 70 minutes to Dragons the ball managed to miss everyone at the near post for Hammond to stab the ball home from eight yards. Both teams huffed and puffed to find the next goal though it did not come and a gritty one nil was satisfactory for the away side who now entertain in the cup.
