Results W/E 19th May 2019

Finally, the last matches have been played and we can all start limbering up for the end of Season Annual Club Presentations and BBQ on Sunday 23rd June:

The U13 Girls just lost 3-4 at LCS against League runners up Limehouse. After a strong start and early goal, the Dragons conceded two consecutive goals in the 8th and 9th minutes, before the pace slowed. Unfortunately, the 2nd half saw Limehouse again dominating to add another two goals to lead 4-1 with 15 minutes to go. All seemed lost except that the Dragons had not read the script and refused to give up as they scored a quick goal and soon after another to make it 3-4. All the Dragons needed was a little more time to score the equaliser and then winner but alas the whistle cruelly intervened to end the match. The Dragons have secured 3rd place in their division – an amazing result for a team that was only created in September 2018.

The U11 Girls beat Alexandra Park FC 5-2 at home. The Dragons started slowly, conceding an early goal before digging deep to be secure their own goal.   At half time the Dragons lead 3-1 and felt on top of the footballing world. An inspiring half time talk motivated the girls to even greater efforts. Straight from the restart they came out fighting as they showed their ability to pass into space and their excellent team work was soon rewarded with another goal.   A fantastic performance and a well-deserved result to round off a fantastic season.
