The Season is now up and running. Inevitably there are, and will be, a few turbulences whilst the organisation settles down but the standout conclusion so far is that the Seniors have got off to an amazingly good start. Historians will know that this has not always been the case so let’s enjoy it whilst we can:
Results W/E 21st September 2025
The Firsts drew 3-3 with Camden United in the Den. This was a great result which could have been greater. Camden entered the season as title favourites and were shocked to find that the trailed by two goals at one point. One could almost whisper that the Dragons could be title contenders if they learn to keep hold of leads.
The Blues demolished Isleworth 8-0 away. As last week one hesitates to use such expansive language but the reality is that the Blues dominated the match with a particularly great hattrick contributing to the score line. The Dragons only received one shot on target all game.
The Old Dragonians had their away match called off against Ryefield in irritating circumstances. The Dragons turned up ready to play only to find Ryefield had no referee and could not provide one.
The U15 Girls beat Islington 5-1 away. A dominant performance from the Dragons who will be ruing the fact they conceded at all. To go to Islington – a traditionally tricky side – and play so well is a testament to their strong foundation. Two games unbeaten!
The U16 Girls lost 0-5 at home to Impact FC. What a strange game. Whilst 0-5 was the result, fans left thinking how on earth did the Dragons not score from the numerous chances they created. On another day this could quite easily have been 10-5 to the Dragons. Still, lots of positives but equally work to do defensively
The U12 Boys beat St Josephs 3-0 away. The Dragons were made to wait for the kick-off as St Joseph’s goalkeeper arrived late, but once the game got underway, they wasted no time taking control. The Dragons dominated the opening 15 minutes with confident passing, dangerous crosses, and relentless shooting. Their persistence finally paid off when a superb strike found the back of the net, giving them a well-deserved lead going into half-time. St. Joseph’s came out fighting in the second half and were helped by some questionable refereeing decisions but the Dragons pressed forward and added two more excellent goals to their tally.
The U13 Boys had no game.
The U14 Boys Red beat Bessingby Park 10-2 at home. A huge scoring game for the Dragons who start their campaign on the front foot. Whether the Coach set shooting practice as halftime homework, or it was just their day, it’s difficult to tell.
The U14 Boys White drew with Acton Ealing Whistlers 6-6 away. Another large scoreline as the Dragons visited local foes AEW. The game twisted this way and that and a point each could be considered fair.
The U15 Boys Middlesex Cup match v St Joseph’s 88 was postponed as the Council had double booked LCS Stadium’s grass pitch.
The U16 Boys beat Omonia 6-0 at the Den in the Middlesex Cup. The Dragons were in charge from the beginning to the end. With a little quicker switching and shooting in range the Dragons might have been in double figures. They started the second half 4-0 up but were then drifting into complacency before two great goals nailed the win beyond Omonia’s most optimistic reach.
The U17 Boys lost against AEK away in the Middlesex Cup. The Dragons started the season with a Cup away game – as difficult a fixture as any after the summer hiatus – and despite giving it a good go they unfortunately came away with a loss.
