Rain gave way to sunshine after the weekend so we hope pitches will dry over the coming weeks:

The Firsts lost to Harrow United away in the Quarter final of the MCFA Intermediate Cup. Ultimately a bad day at the office for the Firsts. The Dragons sadly couldn’t produce the quality needed to best a team they have beaten twice this season.  It is now back to the more important League.

The Blues had no game – the away pitch was waterlogged.

The Old Dragonians had no game.

The U17 Boys lost at home to RC Lens in the League Trophy. The Dragons were put in the Trophy Competition with the older U18 teams.  RC Lens proved to a well organised, older team with more quality than the younger Dragons have been used to.

The U16 Boys lost 0-3 at home to Pro FA. This was a fast competitive match that could have gone either way. It was 0-0 for a long time before Pro FA managed to sneak in a goal. The Dragon then attacked remorselessly without scoring, only to let Pro FA score twice at the very end. The result does not reflect the game. On the whole, the Dragons played well against a tough opposition.

The U15 Boys beat Bessingby Park 3-2 at home. The Dragons started strongly and scored two goals in the first half after dominating possession. In the second half they bagged another despite missing a couple of chances. BP then gained momentum to score twice but the Dragons managed to bring it home.

The U14 Boys Red lost away at Wealdstone. The Dragons were thwarted by an unrelenting Wealdstone who are in the title race. Even though the Dragons  managed to score three good goals, it wasn’t enough for three good points.

The U14 Boys White had no game.

The U13 Boys beat Hanwell Town 5-2 away. The Dragons played with heart if not health, as illness affected fitness. However, after going 0-1 down, they grew into the game and asserted their dominance to take the win.

The U12 Boys lost away to League Leaders Wealdstone playing their final game of the season. Wealdstone delivered a commanding first-half display against third-placed Dragons, who still hold three games in hand. On a sodden, muddy surface, the Dragons struggled for traction as Wealdstone imposed relentless pressure, surging to a 3-0 lead by halftime. Despite several promising openings and near misses, the Dragons couldn’t find the cutting edge required as Wealdstone managed the closing stages professionally to protect their advantage.

The U11 Boys beat the confusingly named Dragons 3-1 away. On a day when the weather couldn’t make up its mind whether to rain, shine or just be grey, the young Dragons had no such confusion over how to play. Sharp, quick, controlled aggression from the off. The highlight of the game was an absolute screamer, on the volley, into the top corner to see it out. Marco Van Basten was taking notes.

The new U10 Boys had no game.

There were no Youth Girls games as they enjoyed the half-term break.
