Thank goodness for the Old Dragons who piled on the goals to save our blushes in other directions:

The Old Dragonians thumped London Samurai 9-0 at LCS. A brilliant game. The Dragons came out of the blocks on fire and were up 6-0 by half time. London Samurai barely had a sniff as the Dragon’s denied them any chance to score. An excellent demonstration high convivial spirits, energy and discipline

The Firsts lost to SL Benfica at LCS. It was the Dragon’s first home game of the season and their tails were up. Alas, a  victory was not to be for this League clash as Benfica proved too clinical. Not the start the Firsts envisioned but they will find their form.

The Blues lost at Townmead away. Another game to quickly put behind them as the Blues came up short on the road. No doubt they will analyse where they went wrong ahead of the next round of fixtures.

The U12 Girls were narrowly beaten 0-1 away at Alexandra Park. This was the Dragons first game playing the longer 30-minute halves which requires lots of running up and down the pitch. The Dragons adapted well but did not have the legs to find Alexandra’s goal.

The U15 Girls lost to Broomwood away. A tough first day at the office for the Dragons who will no doubt bounce back. One can be excused for rustiness at this very early stage, and the Dragons know that they are a match for Broomwood on a different day.

All other Youth Girls and Youth Boys teams had no fixtures, which are scheduled to start this weekend.
