A successful weekend which produced another winning trophy:

The Firsts drew 2-2 with Hilltop FC away. The Dragons controlled the game from start to finish and looked set to win. Fortune however favoured Hilltop who were lucky to get a share of the points through two own goals.

The Blues beat Acton Ealing Whistlers 9-1 at home. An empathic and joyous victory from the Blues who more than played their part in a 10 goal thriller – or perhaps a 9 goal demolition – in front of home fans.

The Old Dragonians had no game.

The U12 Boys Red beat Titans 7-1 at home in the League Trophy. After going one down early in the first half the Dragons pulled their socks up and took complete control – hitting the back of the net no less than seven times with some incredible finishing. Solid defending and a real show of teamwork, all against a team that they had lost to twice in the league, meant a well-deserved place in the Quarter Finals.

The U14 Boys beat Hanwell Town 4-1 away in the League Title Playoff to win their division. This was a tremendous result for the Dragons in a match marked by good sporting competitive behaviour from both sides. The Dragons started a little weak to leave the score 0-0 at the break. The second half was an entirely different affair as they eventually beat Hanwell convincingly – not a result that many would have forecast as Hanwell are a good team.

The U17 Boys just lost to League leaders North London Stars 3-4 at home in the group stage of the League Trophy. Despite playing much of the first half with 10 men, the Dragons scored first to be 2-1 up at half time. A few second half errors cost them dearly and NLS came back to lead 4-2 until the Dragons scored with 5 mins left. Alas, time ran out before parity could be restored.

All other the Youth Boys teams had no matches.

The U10 Boys trained.

The U16 Girls drew 1-1 to Broomfield at home. A well fought contest that the Dragons had opportunities to win but this time round a draw was a fair result.

The U14 Girls had a double header at Enfield Town away, winning the first 2-1 but losing the second 0-1. In a finely balanced first half, a goal came from a perfect corner that was headed in at the far post. Barnet then scored a deserved equalizer in the second half before the Dragons tapped in a winner from a corner after almost scoring from open play. In the second leg, the Dragons were the stronger team but didn’t convert their chances. The second half was more even with the deciding moment coming from a free kick just outside the box that soared past the Dragons keeper.

The U13 Girls lost 1-4 to Alexandra Park away. This was a tough day for the Dragons but despite the loss, they still sit third in the League, and just above AP, having played one less game.

The new U11 Girls beat Ruislip Rangers 2-1 away. Another great win for the Dragons who played well from the beginning to the end.
