The Firsts lead the way this weekend with a thumping win:
The Firsts beat Kodak 5-1 at home. In a late Thursday evening fixture, the Dragons turned it on under the lights. Playing silky football, they scored five successive goals to take the game completely away from a fumbling Kodak, who in turn became edgy and over-physical. With more and more decisions going Kodak’s way, the officials handed out a red to the Dragons’ left back – the resulting free kick just evaded the Dragons keeper to sneak into the corner. With a now numerical disadvantage, the Dragons sat tight to see out the match professionally. A massive result for the Dragons.
The Blues and the Old Dragonians had no games.
The U14 Girls beat Most Wanted 2-1 away. A very well-deserved win for the Dragons who battled hard and played with more desire than the somewhat ironically named Most Wanted. The Dragons deserve every praise for the win after a tough season and showed what they are truly capable of.
The U12 Girls lost 0-3 at home to Alexandra Park. Despite the result, it was a great performance from the Dragons against a team currently sitting second in the table. It was a closely fought contest where fine margins made the difference – just 3 mistakes led to AP scoring their goals. The Dragons had a couple of chances to score but were unable to convert.
The U17 Girls and U15 Girls had no games.
The U16 Boys beat Pitshanger 4-2 at home. It was the fourth-placed Dragons against sixth placed Pitcshanger as the Dragons try to chase down a top three League finish. The Dragons were by far the stronger of the two teams – even after the scare of going behind 1-2, the Dragons stuck to their game plan and ultimately the better team took all three points.
The U15 Boys home match against Bessingby Park Rangers was called off by BPR.
The U13 Boys Red beat Bessingby Park 5-2 at home in the League Trophy. An amazingly good game for the Dragons who woke from their slumber after going 0-1 down to then score five brilliant team goals.
The U13 Boys White were awarded an automatic home win to Hanwell Town who could not field a team in the League Trophy.
The New U11 Boys lost away to Wealdstone. A tough game for the Dragons on the road against an unbeaten Wealdstone. This was probably a good lesson for the Dragons – great teams learn to bounce back from big losses.
The U18 Boys, U14 Boys and U12 Boys had no games. The U10 Boys trained in preparation for the League.
