U13s back fresh after their Autumn break

Kensington Dragons U13s 2 v 2 Hayes and Yeading

After a 4 week gap in match action the U13s finally got to play a game, Dean the coach made a tactical adjustment playing one of our centre halves in midfield to add some height to it and we also had two new players making their debuts.

Following an impeccably observed minutes silence for Remembrance Day the game kicked off and we seemed to suffer for our recent lack of activity as we got caught cold within the first 5 mins conceding from a well worked corner.  For the next 15 mins we were under siege and only resolute defending stopped the team falling further behind, The Dragons gradually shook off their rust and gained a foot hold in the game and began to look dangerous down the wings and from one of these raids we won a corner. A quality cross was met in the 6 yard box by our centre half who nodded the ball just over the goal line.

The second half saw the Dragons begin to dominate and keep the opposition penned into their half and duly turned this pressure into a lead when our striker slotted the ball past their keeper. We nearly increased our lead as a goal bound shot was tipped away by the H&Y keeper at the last second.  With 10 mins left in the game with the Dragons again attacking we unfortunately lost the ball and H&Y counterattacked and got a forward in the clear behind our defence and he duly slotted the ball into the net to level the scores and this was how the game ended.
