Kensington Dragons U14A 0 V 3 Greenford Celtic. Middlesex County Cup Round 1
The team gave a very credible performance against a team three divisions higher than us and for most of the match we were their equals especially in the first half which started with the team looking a bit rusty after our game last week being called off, but after this nervy first five minutes we settled and played some good football without really threatening the Celtic goal. We did have the best chance of the half following a good move and the ball fell to our midfielder inside the area but his shot went past the post. The defence was playing well and limited Celtic to long range efforts.
The second half began badly as straight from the re-start our centre half got caught in possession and Celtic broke into our box and their striker scored. A second followed midway through the second half as their winger cut into the area and his shot rattled against the post but the rebound fell nicely to their midfielder who converted. A change in formation to 3-4-3 and a raft of subs, saw the Dragons look more dangerous but unable to capitalise on the few chances we created. A third goal was conceded as we pressed to get back into the game and got caught on counter attack.
