The Firsts lost 1-3 away to AFC Southall in the FA Intermediate Cup. Annoying but true! Still there are other cups to win with the season barely started.
The Blues beat Feltham 2-1 at the Den: The battle of the joint title favourites didn’t disappoint. It was Feltham who went into the break a goal to the good following a corner and poor KD marking. When Feltham beat the Dragons last season they celebrated by posting a tiki token video. Their latest tik tok will have to bemoan their defeat as the Dragons dominated the 2nd half. The Feltham keeper single handily kept them in the lead, but if at first you don’t succeed, try and try again and that’s exactly what the Dragons did to be rewarded with 2 goals. The Blues now sit top of the table – undefeated at the Den since it opened last season.
The ODs drew 2-2 with TW away to leave their unbeaten run intact since November 2025. The Dragons started badly – they were lethargic, slow, inept and just not good. It was no surprise that TW went 2-0 up and sensed they could end the winning run. Like the click of a switch the Old Ds came to life and dominated the last 30 minutes to score 2 great goals to level. The Dragons then laid siege on the TW goal, had a penalty appeal turned down and rued the fact that the referee barely played any injury time. Another 5 minutes would have seen them win. Still, they remain top of their division and look forward next week to extending their unbeaten run in the League Cup.
The U12 Girls lost to Broomwood Emeralds at home on the Scrubs: This was the Dragons first ever match and not surprisingly it took the first half to gel together. The second half was a huge improvement and Broomwood found it impossible to score any goals which left the second half an even 0-0.
The U16 Girls lost to Highgate School at the Den. This was a good effort from the Dragons considering all the ailments, injuries and key missing players. It was not the result the Dragons wanted wanted, but there were something to smile about. In particular, well done to the debutants, and those players who played out of their usual position to put in a shift in for the cause.
The U17 Girls beat Alexandra Park U18s 9-1 at the Den to record two wins against older opponents. The Dragons were on the front foot from the referee’s opening whistle and laid siege to AP’s goal. Attack after attack ensued and the Dragons found themselves 6-0 up and, to be honest, it should have been 12. The AP girls showed more fight and determination in the 2nd half and scored a consolation goal when the Dragons defence forgot they were defenders and not attackers to leave a gaping hole in the penalty area and concede. The Dragons did score 3 more goals to win 9-1, but it was a little disappointing in the way they tailed off. Still a win is a win and onto the next game
The U12 Boys beat London Athletic 1-0 away: Playing away on the first match of the season is always a challenge but the Dragons proved they were up to it to come away with the 3 points.
The U13 Boys beat St Josephs at home on the Scrubs 8-3. The Dragons were mediocre in the first half with the score 1-1 at the break. A stiff half time talk stiffened their footballing sinews and they upped their game considerably to pummel in 7 goals and leave the pitch decisive winners .
The U14 Boys lost to Wealdstone away by more than planned. The great thing about football is that there is always another match and with it the opportunity to improve.
The U15 Boys Reds lost away to Elite London in the Middlesex Trophy 4-6. With a new coach, with half the team making debuts, the Dragons put in a sterling performance- with only 10 players! They showed guts, resilience and determination. Despite going behind 4 times, they came back 4 times to draw level. The final 10 minutes saw ELA score 2 fortuitous goals to eventually win but they were pushed hard by the exciting new look Reds. The signs are promising.
The U15 Boys Whites lost away to Whetstone in the Middlesex Trophy. This was as bad as it gets. The first game of the season ended in a heavy defeat for the depleted Dragons. Despite travelling with 14 players only 8 were fit the Dragons managed to get 11 players to start but this went down to 10 after 20 minutes and 9 after an hour and in the interim conceded far more goals than is desirable. Whilst Whetstone played well, the Dragons injuroes undoubtedly played a part. Whilst bitterly disappointed the Dragons know it’s not long before the next game and an opportunity to right the wrongs
The U16 Boys beat Regents Park 4-2 at the Den. The Dragons dominated the first half to lead 3-0 at the break. Back on the pitch tiredness, and a few muddles, lead to a minor wobble but the Dragons scored another goal to make the win fairly emphatic.
The U18 Boys lost at the Den to RC Lens: This was a repeat of last season’s early game where the Dragons were not adequately prepared and Ruthless RC Lens took advantage. Historians will remember that on the return match later in that season the Dragons came out worthy winners. This season the Dragons were overrun in the first half, found their footballing feet in the second to score a superb clinical goal and then wobbled again as the match drew to a close. Character building.
The remaining Dragon teams had no scheduled matches.
