The VIY Volunteer It Yourself project (www.volunteerityourself.org) combines volunteering and DIY by challenging young people to learn trade and building skills whilst helping to refurbish youth club and community sports facilities.
We’ve teamed up with Kensington Dragons FC to offer you the chance to help upgrade changing facilities at the Linford Christie Stadium. By taking part you will gain on-site work experience, mentoring support from professional tradespeople and gain an Entry Level 3 qualification in Building and Construction Skills from City & Guilds.
We’re looking for young people aged 16-24 who can commit at least 20 volunteering hours to the project over three weeks in April 2015. No prior experience in trade or building skills is needed!
