U13s vs Bessingby Park

The U13s lost 2-4 away to Bessingby Park to finish 3rd in the League.

It was one of those days when the odds were against the Dragons. With no regular goalie due to injury, players had to shift to different positions.  The Dragons conceded 2 early goals as Bessingby’s confidence grew. The Dragons never gave up and scored a terrific strike and there remained the chance to turn the result around, but alas some of the Dragons were badly injured. In the second half the Dragons frustrated Bessingby as they controlled the game and were close to equalising, but basic mistakes lead to another Bessingby goal. With new found determination the Dragons scored a brilliant goal from a corner but again lost concentration when defending to allow the Bessingby to go ahead. The Dragons will be back stronger next year!

vs

U18s vs Kodak

The U18s in the Premiership just lost 3-5 at home to Kodak.

This last game mirrored the Dragons season as they played the better football with their midfielder twice jinking in from the left and unleashing brilliant shots from outside the box only to see the bar rattled. A swift counter attack saw Kodak go ahead, a further goal from a corner and then a sublimely taken goal saw Kodak go 3 up.  A flowing move saw the Dragons pull a goal back before the half. Two further Kodak goals in the second half saw the Dragons go 1-5 down. It was then that the Dragons fighting spirit showed, as both teams tired, a passing move cut through Kodak, to be followed by a great cross which left the Dragons striker to tap in. Shortly after the Dragons scored again and the comeback was on. Unfortunately, time ran out as Kodak defended to the last ditch.

vs

Senior Reserves vs Southall

The Senior Reserves walloped Southall 9-0 away.

The Dragons started with no goal keeper leading to an outfield player taking up the mantle to become the hero of the day. The first half was evenly matched to leave it 0-0 at the whistle. The second half was bordering on a footballing miracle as the Dragons dominated to pulverise Southall and score a magnificent 9 goals, whilst keeping a clean sheet to finished second in the league The Dragons have the best league defence record, only conceding 15 goals all season, whilst scoring 53 goals in 18 games which, as the mathematicians amongst us will know, equals an average of 2.94 goals/match. A fantastic season.
