With the advantage of few fixtures there were few teams to beat us so we remain undefeated in 2020:
The Firsts drew 2-2 with Sporting Hackney away. The Dragons dominated the 1st half but couldn’t find the net to much frustration at the break. The second half started in the worst possible way – Hackney scored with header from a corner. The Dragons pushed themselves to equalise 20 mins before the end, but a minute later Hackney counter attacked to take the lead once again. The Dragons pushed up and equalised minutes from the end. In general, this was a good Dragons performance but alas two mistakes prevented a win.
The Reserves beat Stonewall 4-2 at home. The Dragons started quickly to score twice early on, but two errors allowed Stonewall back into the game. The Dragons changed formation to take back control and scored twice more to see the game out for a comfortable win.
The U16s beat league leaders Headstone 2-1 at home – having previously been trounced by them in the away fixture. The Dragons were shorthanded, with a main player oversleeping, but started in good spirits despite being wary that a defeat loomed. Sure enough, a beautifully curved corner sailed into the Dragons net ten minutes after KO. The Dragons rallied and by halftime were 2-1 up resulting from stunning open passing and two excellent goals from outside the area! The second half saw a brutal resurgence from Headstone but, having collected their over-sleeper from a nearby bus stop, the Dragons dug in to win 2-1. A famous victory that sees the new decade off to a great start.
