The Den Update: Work started last Tuesday to connect, the changing rooms and WCs to the drains etc. If all goes well, we should have everything working by September.

Funding Update: When all the works are completed at the Den we plan to organise an event to formally recognise and thank the Pitch Funders and the Patrons who have kept the club going for many years. There are of course many others who have contributed to our success. A recent exciting initiative was Abby Bird’s sponsored run which raised £4,000 for the Dragons. Abby won the Women’s 10K Wimbledon Common Race. Abby is a former Dragons Youth player and now helps coach our U13 Girls. The Dragons will only keep going for the next 100 years if each successive generation takes on the responsibility to keep the club going. Let’s hope Abby has started a trend!

Holland Park Soccer Camp: Sunday 28th June: All Welcome. The Dragons are running morning (10.30am to1pm) and afternoon (1.30 – 3pm) sessions as part of RBKC’s Activity Day. There will be lots of other activities so well worth a visit. Everybody welcome.

Dragons Summer Soccer School: 10am to 1pm every day from Sunday 19 to Thursday 23 July at Kensington Memorial Park (AKA St Marks Park).  This is aimed at Under 9 to Under 11 girls and boys who would like to play in a team next season.

Book Tip: This is aimed at the more mature Dragon – “Altogether Now” by Erik Samuelson. The historically minded will remember Wimbledon FC’s owner uprooting the club to Milton Keynes to the consternation of its fans. One particular fan, Erik, had just retired from being a partner at PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He joined a group of fans to resurrect the club by holding trials on Wimbledon Common in 2002 to eventually reach the English Football League. A different, but similar, journey to that of the Dragons – we hope one day to emulate their tremendous achievement. Your correspondent found the book not only enjoyable but a
