Kensington Dragons U13s 1 V 4 Venceremos
The Dragons took an earlier lead as our striker continued his rich streak off scoring, however the lead did not last long as the opposition equalised. The game was pretty much even for the remainder of the half with both sides working hard to create chances and when they did they found the keeper hard to beat.
Just as it was looking like they would go into half time level, a soft free-kick was conceded just on the edge of our box and converted in style by the Venceremos player as he smashed the ball passed our wall and keeper ripping into the top of our net.
Just as the second half began the weather condition worsened and with the ref being overly fussy, made it hard for both teams to build up any momentum. With the game in the balance a Venceremos midfielder jinked his way past our left back and then proceeded to do a “Tom Daly” and flung himself to the ground. To all our players amazement the ref pointed to the spot. The player dragged himself up and duly converted the penalty.
This injustice spurred on the Dragons, but we were unable to convert pressure into goals and as we tired Venceremos got a fourth at the death.
Ruislip Rangers 4 V 1 Kensington Dragons U13s
On a lovely sunny day that was perfect for football. The Dragons started slowly and it cost them with a well worked goal from Rangers. A quick response from the Dragons resulted in a wonder free kick from all of 25 yards from our midfield player. As the half went on the Dragons nearly took the lead with a well worked throw in.
The second half Dragons started brightly. But the turning point of the match was a badly defended free-kick with the ball crossing the goal line after a double save and scramble. With no subs the Dragons tired with Rangers running out 4-1 winners.
