SAVE the DATE: End of Season Presentations on Sunday June 14th
Update: Whilst the season may be over thework running a football club is not!The reliable support of our Patrons, combined with the stupendous selfless generosity of our Pitch Funders, allowed us to make a huge leap forward this season – for the first time we played on our own pitch. Our challenge over the summer is to connect the temporary changing rooms to water, drainage and electricity; build the stands and, most excitingly, install a turnstile. Our aim is to create a properly functioning football ground by September. Our ground may be small but it will be a delightful gem worth waiting for.
Donations: If you have enjoyed playing this season, or are a parent of a player, pleasemake a voluntary Donationto help fund our day-to-day operational costs – we must raise £500/player/season. There is no mandatory fee but if you can afford to help please click the DONATE button.
Our coaches are not told who donates so there will be no personal advantage but you will have helped a player join in who otherwise might be sitting at home indoors scrolling through social media or whatever.
Book Tip: With the season over parents, players and supporters will be looking for good books to read over the summer. Our criteria each week will be books which are ostensibly about football but which have a wider message and story. They of course need to be a good read. Fever Pitch by Nick Hornby is a good start with Arsenal playing Paris Saint-Germain this weekend. It is Nick Hornby’s story about a father and son developing a relationship by watching Arsenal each week. It is full of anecdotes about matches at Highbury. If you have not read it you should!
