The Dragons are nothing if not resilient – as other clubs wilted in the heat towards the end of a long season the Dragons kept going to remain undefeated this week – and in doing so saw the U13 Boys win their Divisional Title:

The Firsts beat Sporting Duet 3-0 at home on Saturday, after a 4-0 home win against Stonewall in midweek. This was an important week for the Dragons who first returned a dominant win against their longstanding foe – Stonewall.  The win built momentum to go against title contenders Sporting Duet which resulted in another win to showcase the squad’s progression this season. With three games left to play, the Dragons must hold their concentration and solidify as high a league position as possible.

The Blues drew 2-2 with Indian Gymkhana away. A disappointing result for the Blues as they needed the win to keep themselves on track for their domestic double – the League Title to complement their winning Cup Final. A poor start saw them go 0-2 down but credit must go to the Dragons as they clawed their way back to draw level with 10 minutes to go – despite being denied two penalty decisions. There is still all to play for but they know they must try everything to not drop points.

The Old Dragonians beat Hillingdon Stags 4-0 at home. Also, with three games to go, the Old Ds secured a crucial win to put pressure on Hillingdon. The Dragons sit on top for now but with title rivals having games in hand. The Dragons can do only one thing to keep themselves in contention – win football games!

The U13 Boys beat Wealdstone 1-0 at home in a first-place playoff to be crowned League Champions. Even though the Dragons secured the title with a single goal, it was in fact one of the Wealdstone players that scored the match winner. Fortunately for the Dragons, he put it in the wrong net. Regardless, this was an epic response to the Dragons’ 1-5 loss to the same team just two weeks ago. They were relentless for the whole game and deserve every plaudit for winning the division.

The U12 Boys beat Hanwell Town 4-2 on penalties at home to progress to the Semi Finals of the League Trophy. This was a closely contested football match, with both teams performing well from start to finish with little separating them. A few minutes into the second half, the Dragons found their breakthrough, scoring a well-earned equaliser to make it 2-2. From there, both teams pushed for a winner, but strong defending and determined play meant the scoreline stayed unchanged until the final whistle and the dreaded penalty shootout. Top class Dragons’ composure saw them move on to next week’s Semi Final

.All other Youth Boys teams had no scheduled games. The U13 Girls drew 1-1 with Gunnersbury Eagles at home. A great performance from the Dragons who scored in the first 15 minutes and held the Eagles at bay with great defending and passing. As the game progressed, the Dragons started to slow down due to the heat but kept going before the Eagles thwarted their hard work with an equaliser 15 minutes towards the end. A very late goal line clearance from the Dragons showed their work ethic to the final whistle.

The U15 Girls and the U16 Girls had no games.
