With the season drawing to a close plans are being made for the End of Season Presentations scheduled for Sunday 14th June – more details later.

The exciting news is that we now have Changing Rooms, WCs and a Refreshments Cabin positioned next to our pitch. The more sobering news is that it will take us a few months to make them useable. If all goes well they should be functioning by the start of next season in September.

Back on the pitch it was a mixed week:

The Firsts narrowly lost twice during the week, to teams both ominously bearing the name ‘Camden’. On Wednesday, they were beaten 1-2 by Camden United away. On Saturday, they travelled to Camden & Islington and also lost 1-2. All in all a tough week of away fixtures where the Dragons dominated for large spells in both games but came up short in small margins that made the difference – especially so after hitting the woodwork three times in one attack. Time to step up in a midweek crunch game.

The Blues were narrowly beaten 4-5 by Old Isleworthians away in a 9 goal thriller. A blow to the title race as the Blues drop points. It was a physical game where the Isleworthians took the pitch out of the equation and consistently went long. The game was a back and forth with the Dragons constantly coming back but the home side eventually stole it in the end from two corners.

The Old Dragonians beat CB Hounslow & Abbots 6-0 away. A comprehensive victory for the Old Ds that keeps them hot in the title chase as their closest competitors play out their games in hand. With just four games to go, there is everything to play for and the Dragons know they must simply keep winning if they are to secure the crown.

The U13 Girls drew 2-2 to Broomwood away. The Dragons started well and had three chances in the first 6 minutes but were unable to capitalise. Then, a defensive error allowed Broomwood to score. With a job to do, the Dragons started the second half strongly and equalised but alas another Dragons error – this time not clearing their lines – let Broomwood in again. The Dragons kept their heads up, kept going and in the last second of the game fired home to clinch a point.

The U15 Girls beat Goffs Oak 10-0 away. A great game from Dragons as they showed complete composure and maturity in front of goal and in defence alike. A truly all-round performance as they look to end the season on a sustained high.

The U16 Girls had no game.

The U10 Boys beat Pinner 5-3 away. What a great finish to the season! The Dragons have worked very hard these past months and it showed in the game. They displayed great passing and communicated really well in an otherwise challenging game. The Dragons only have two losses this season and the entire squad should be very proud.

The U11 Boys drew 1-1 to Kick Ups away. It was felt during the build up as a very important match and ultimately the draw felt fair. Kick Ups attacked in the first half and even missed a penalty, but the Dragons managed to equalise very quickly and then kept pressing, trying to score the winner in the second half. A great match despite ending level.

The U12 Boys drew 1-1 at home to Kick Ups in the League Trophy. What looked like a straightforward fixture quickly became a defensive battle despite the Dragons dominating early play. Several first‑half chances went begging, leaving the score level at the break. A brilliant free kick strike finally put the Dragons ahead after the restart before a lapse at the back allowed Kick Ups to equalise late on, sealing the draw. Focus now shifts to the Middlesex Trophy Final in three weeks.

The U17 Boys lost to FC Starz away in the League Trophy. A tough game for the Dragons against opponents in the division above them. They played without fear and got a goal to their name but were out-powered by the Starz.

The U13, U14 Red and White, U15 and U16 Boys had no games.
