A great week for the Dragons as we approach the final end of the season firing on all goal scoring cylinders:
The Firsts emphatically beat London Tigers 5-0 at home on Thursday. The Dragons started well but the Tigers managed to hold their own in a tight first half to leave it 1-0 at the break. The fruits of the Dragons hard labour then became apparent as they scored a second early goal. The Tiger’s floodgates opened and the Dragons scored again and again and again, through some incredible long-range efforts that flew in to finish an enjoyable win.
The Firsts beat Slough Town 3-0 away on Saturday. After a short two-day turnaround, the Dragons travelled West to face a relegated Slough Town. The Dragons may have been forgiven for being leggy due to the tight match schedule but, buoyed by their earlier goal fest, they pounded in another three goals to add to the week’s tally, whilst keeping watertight in defence to have back to back clean sheets.
The Blues and the Old Dragonians had no scheduled games as they have finished their seasons.
The U13 Girls beat Denham United 4-1 at home. This was a vital three points for the Dragons who had to focus and deliver late on in the season to lift them above local rivals Ealing Trailfinders. The win means that their fate will be in their own hands as they go into their last game of the season next Saturday – a win and they win the League’s Runners Up Cup. All eyes are on the weekend to come.
All other the Youth Girls teams had no scheduled games.
All the Youth Boys teams have ended their seasons and had no scheduled games.
The U10 Boys trained.
