Kensington Dragons 1 v Ruislip Rangers 1
After conceding 14 goals in our last two matches, Coach Dean worked on the team’s defensive organisation during the training session prior to this match and the positives were reflected in the scoreline.
The was a tight match from start to finish with the first 50 mins dominated by the defences of each team with each side creating a limited number of half chances but every time an opening developed it was snuffed out by a covering defender.
As the teams tired in the last 20 mins chances become more frequent and Ruislip had the ball in the net only to be ruled out for offside. The Dragons pushed on playing some neat passing moves which eventually lead to the opening goal after the ball pinged around the Ruislip penalty area and eventually fell to an unmarked Ben who stroked the ball into the net from 6 yards out.
Ruislip then had a period of pressure which led to their equaliser. After the Dragons defended a series of crosses, the opposition striker found some space and managed to loop a header over our keeper and into the net to level the scores.
